Condition:
Developed by Du Pont in the early 19th century, pyralin is a nitrocellulose plastic similar to celluloid, that was used in everything from dish wear to fountain pens because of its beautiful coloring.  This A.A. Fisher Pen Company pyralin pen is in very nice overall condition with vibrant green 'woodgrain' coloring, there are no cracks or personalization.   The cap and barrel have some very light micro surface scratches, and a hint of cap wear by the threads.  The FISHER imprinted clip is firm.   The thick 14k gold filled cap band is in lovely conbditon with a minor hint of edge wear.  The clip shows wear and brassing, the lever shows wear.  The pen has been cleaned, a new ink sac installed, the pen has been water and ink tested.  This lovely oversized pen is ready for ink.

Restoration Work:

  • The cap has been brush cleaned
  • Nib and section have been ultrasonically cleaned
  • A new ink sac has been installed with 100% pure medical grade talcum powder
  • The pen has been water and ink tested
  • The pen has been lightly polished
  • This pen is ready to use
