Condition:
This is a vintage Diamond Medal fountain pen made in Chicago, Illinois during the late 1910s to 1920s. The pen features a striking red woodgrain pattern and is crafted from pyralin, a nitrocellulose-based material developed by DuPont during around World War I. The gold-plated clip is stamped clearly with "Diamond Medal" and remains in excellent condition, as do the matching cap band and lever. The barrel imprint shows slight wear but is still fully legible. At the top of the cap, there is an emblem, as shown. The standout feature of this pen is its large #8 Warranted 14k gold nib in a medium point, which is in very nice condition. The pen has been cleaned, a new ink sac installed and it's ready for ink.
