History & Condition:
Esterbrook launched the Safari in 1957 to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary. The first-year all-resin cap with its styalized angled metal "derby" was soon replaced by a less attractive thin metal version.
This pen is a very nice vintage example in sharp Galactic Gray. The barrel and cap show light wear. The clip is firm with a crisp Esterbrook imprint and the cap band exhibits a touch of plate wear. It takes Esterbrook ink cartridges (not included) and is fitted with a 1555 Gregg fine nib for smooth, expressive writing. Charming and classic, this Safari looks so good it might even attract the attention of extraterrestrials.
Restoration Work:
- Nib and feed have been ultrasonically cleaned
- The pen has been lightly polished
- This pen is ready for ink
