Wahl-Eversharp Ralston Purina Co. Service Award Fountain Pen Desk Set
Condition:             
The Eversharp desk set base is a fantastic version of the iconic Purina checkerboard given to employees in the 1950's for 5-years of loyal service.  The base is in very nice vintage condition with some light wear.  The pen holder is firm and rotates to the desired angle.  The base measures 4 3/4" x 3 3/16".  The Eversharp Gold Seal lever ebonite fountain pen is in nice condition.  The pen has some light surface scratches, the tail has a slight bit of color variation, the trim has some light wear.  The Eversharp 14k broad nib has a light bit of flex.  A neat piece of Americana.
 
Restoration:
  • The pen has been completely disassembled
  • The nib and feed have been ultrasonically cleaned
  • Breather tube cleaned and reinstalled
  • New ink sac installed with 100% pure medical grade talc
  • Pen and hardware lightly polished
  • Fill tested

    Broad:  The Eversharp 14k gold nib is in lovely condition with crisp, clear imprints and ample tipping material, as shown.  The nib has a light springy feel to it and can be considered light flex.
