Condition:

The famed industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss created this innovative and iconic "streamlined' fountain pen in the late 1930's.  This Skyline is in very nice condition with it unique and less common gold filled dome cap and wide jewelers band.  This style of pen was sold in luxury jewelry stores in the 1940's.  The barrel has consistent coloring throughout, a rich amber, brown and burgundy stripped cap with gold accents,  there are no cracks or personalization. The barrel of the pen has some light scratches. The gold plating on the jewelers band, the clip unit and lever are in very nice condition with just a small bit of wear. The clip is secured cleanly around the derby, the derby has some minor dents on it. The pen has been fully disassembled, cleaned (including the essential breather tube), a new necked ink sac installed.  The pen has been ink and water tested - it is ready for ink and ready for you to us.

Restoration:

  • The pen has been completely disassembled
  • The nib and feed have been ultrasonically cleaned
  • The breather tube has been thoroughly cleaned and reinstalled
  • New necked/ tapered ink sac installed with 100% pure medical grade talc
  • Pen and hardware lightly polished
