Condition:

This pre war speedline filler Vacumatic presents beautifully in layered tones of silver pearl with the classic stacked coin pattern. The celluloid is vibrant with no cracks and no personalization. The nickel plated clip is firm, the silver pearl cap jewel looks great, and the wide nickel plated cap band is secure with just a hint of wear.  The barrel imprint is readable, though the date code shows wear. The barrel has ambering, which makes the ink level a bit more challenging to see. The pen has been disassembled and cleaned, fitted with a new diaphragm, and the section threads have been properly sealed. It has been ink tested and performs exactly as it should, filling nicely with its speedline filler and offering a smooth, satisfying writing experience.  At certain angles the silver seems to glow with a quiet pulse, as if the pen made a brief detour through orbit and brought back a trace of starlight for your desk.

Restoration Work:

  • The cap has been brush cleaned
  • Nib, feed and breather tube have been ultrasonically cleaned
  • A new diaphragm has been installed
  • Threads properly sealed
  • The pen has been lightly polished
  • The pen has been tested
  • This pen is ready to write
