Condition:
This pre war Parker Vacumatic mechanical pencil presents nicely in layered tones of silver pearl with the classic stacked coin pattern. The celluloid is vibrant with no cracks and no personalization. It measures 5" long and carries the iconic split arrow clip. The nickel plated clip is firm, the black cap jewel is firm, and the wide nickel plated cap band with horizontal lines is secure. The clip has some edge brassing. The barrel imprint is clear and readable, with a q2 1940 date code. At certain angles the silver seems to glow with a quiet pulse, as if the pencil made a brief detour through orbit and brought back a trace of starlight for your desk. The lead advances and retracts smoothly via the twist mechanism, and the pencil has an eraser. This pencil is loaded with lead and ready to use on landing.
