Condition:

Offered is a vintage Waterman Taperite Citation twist mechanical pencil from the late 1940s to early 1950s, finished in a rich burgundy barrel with a gold-filled lined cap. This is a classic postwar Waterman design, understated, well-balanced, and built for everyday use, measuring 5 3/16" long.

The pencil advances and retracts lead properly via the twist mechanism. Condition is very good vintage, showing light surface scratches from normal use but no dents or dings. The clip is tight and secure, all parts are original, and the pencil retains its original retailer marketing sticker marked P515 with a $3.00 price, a great period detail collectors appreciate.

Sleek, streamlined, and faintly futuristic, this pencil looks like it was designed for a mid-century engineer plotting a course to orbit, or at least to the next meeting. A solid, honest example of Waterman’s Citation line and a great addition to any vintage writing instrument collection.
